To enter Brazil, your passport must be valid for at least six months after the date you arrive.
Make sure the border control officer puts a stamp in your passport. If it is not stamped, you may be fined when you leave.
Citizens of many countries and territories—including the United Kingdom and EU member states—can enter Brazil without a visa for tourism purposes. The permitted length of stay is typically up to 90 days.
Citizens of Australia, Canada and the United States must apply for an e-Visa via the official portal listed below before travelling to Brazil.
e-Visa (for citizens of the United States, Australia, and Canada): US$80.90.
Other visa types: Fees vary depending on the applicant's nationality.
e-Visa: The visa is typically valid for five years (for Canadian and Australian citizens) and up to 10 years (for U.S. citizens), with each visit allowing a stay of up to 90 days.
Brazil does not issue transit visas. Travellers who plan to leave the airport's secure area must obtain a regular visa (unless they are nationals of a visa-exempt country).
