Passports

To enter Indonesia, your passport must be valid for at least six months after the date you arrive and have at least two blank pages.

Passport note

People arriving from abroad must complete a health declaration and an electronic customs declaration (e-CD) online before entering the country. The barcodes generated after submitting the forms should be saved, as they will need to be scanned at the airport.

Visas

Indonesia grants visa-free entry to citizens of the following countries:
• ASEAN member states: Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.

Citizens from the following countries are required to have a visa to visit Indonesia. However, they are eligible for Visa on Arrival (VoA) when entering Indonesia:

Africa: South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Mozambique, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Tunisia.

Americas: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Suriname, United States, Venezuela.

Asia: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, China, Georgia, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Macau, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan.

Europe: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City.

Oceania: Australia, Fiji.

Visa note

If you overstay your visa by up to 60 days, you will be fined 1 million Indonesian rupiah for each day of overstay.

Types and cost

Single-entry visa on arrival or e-VOA: IRD 500,000.

Single-entry tourist visa: IDR 1,500,000 (up to 60 days) or IDR 2,700,000 (up to 180 days).

Validity

Visa on Arrival or e-VOA: validity is not applicable as the visa is issued and used immediately upon entry.

Tourist visas: usually valid for 90 days from the date of issuance.

Transit

Indonesia does not currently offer a dedicated transit visa. Travellers who remain in the airport's international transit area do not require a visa. However, those who wish to leave the airport during a layover must obtain a Visa on Arrival or ensure they are eligible for visa-free entry, depending on their nationality.

Application to

Either on arrival at a designated port of entry or in advance at the consulate (or consular section of embassy) for normal tourist visas.

Working days

Allow five working days for visa processing.

Visitors can apply for an extension on the Indonesia immigration website.
