Passports

To enter Nicaragua, your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival.

Nicaragua is a signatory to the Central America Border Control Agreement (CA-4), which allows citizens of El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua to travel freely between these countries without a passport for stays of up to 90 days. However, travellers should carry a valid ID, as transport providers may request it.

Visas

Citizens of many countries and territories—including Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and EU member states—can enter Nicaragua without a visa for tourism purposes. The permitted length of stay varies by nationality but is typically up to 90 days. Travellers who are visa-exempt must still pay a US$10 fee for a tourist card upon arrival in Nicaragua.
